BIO
Brent Andrew Clowater, is an internationally collected watercolour and oil painter. Inspired by his surrounding environment, Brent paints luminous and dreamy impressions of the world as he experiences it. Brent Andrew's career goal is to travel and instruct in watercolour while exhibiting his work in many different countries. His paintings are moody, immersive and captivating, often connecting with a sense of nostalgia in the viewer.

Brent Andrew Clowater, is an Artist and Designer with an established freelance practice in Vancouver. In 2003 he graduated with an honours Diploma in Creative Graphics from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. After finishing his education, he moved to Vancouver and began producing art in various capacities. As a well-rounded creative individual, he continues to work diligently at refining his artistic skills and is confident with a variety of both traditional and digital media. Maintaining a working studio in Vancouver’s ACME building, Brent has become an active member of the cities contemporary art community. Very much an advocate for the benefits of art education, He has been awarded residency grants through the ArtStarts program, The Betty Welburn Artistic Legacies Committee and the Vancouver School Board. These grants have allowed for him to work with a range students and community members, producing compelling art installations and murals.

AWARDS AND RESIDENCIES
2016
- David Livingston mural and residency project. With artist Jerry Whitehead we directed over 300 students
ages K/gr9 in conceptualizing and creating a 8’x32’ mural on the theme of the west coast’s natural
environment. The mural is prominently displayed in the foyer of the school.
2015
- Grant awarded from the Betty Welburn artistic legacies committee. I worked closely in the classroom with
Sir Charles Tupper, Secondary students in grades 10, 11 and 12. Over a 3 month period we developed a
4800 sqft mural in tribute to the schools growth as a safe and inclusive environment. This corresponded with
the schools Greenway project and Multicultural day.
